Job overview

Do you want to be part of a rapidly developing service committed to improving the lives of Children, Young People and their families?

In a period of exciting change, South Cumbria CAMHS are currently looking to recruit a full time Band 6 Senior CAMHS Practitioner.

We are looking for a registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with a dual qualification in Play Therapy, this is desirable but not essential.

You will be part of an established CAMHS, working with children, young people (up to the age of 18) and their families; experience of working with children and young people would be an advantage.

If you are considering relocating to join us and are new to the Trust you may be eligible to receive relocation expenses of up to £8K to make that move a reality, as well as the £7K Welcome Bonus package.

Main duties of the job

We are a busy, friendly service providing a range of treatment approaches to children and young people including CBT, EMDR and Decider Skills Workshops.  We also work in close collaboration with partner agencies.

We are committed to ongoing continuous professional development of our staff and as a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to be involved in various training initiatives, including CYPIAPT.

The hours of work are 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. You must be passionate about working with children and young people with a wide range of moderate to severe mental health difficulties.

We’re always looking for talented and compassionate people who share our values, and recognise that you may need to relocate in order to join this fantastic team. To help with the costs incurred by moving home to begin the next chapter of your career at LSCFT, we offer a generous Relocation Package of up to £8000 for successful applicants to this role who currently live further than 30 miles away from their new base of work (subject to t&c's).

Working for our organisation

The £7k Welcome Bonus package applies to this role.  The bonus is only available for people who are not currently employed (or who have not been employed in the last 12 months) by any NHS provider trust in the Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System in a like-for-like role; e.g. a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse at another Trust in the LSC ICS would not be eligible for the bonus if moving to a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse role at LSCFT. Bank only workers for Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust are eligible for the scheme if they have not held a substantive role in Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System in the last 12 months (subject to all other terms and conditions being met). These incentives are subject to recovery clauses within the first 24 months of employment. This bonus is applicable to any successful candidate whose interview for this role is conducted prior to 30th June 2024.

The £7k Welcome Bonus package is designed to attract and retain the very best staff in post. The amount a new starter would receive is shown in the Welcome Bonus Payment Schedule below:

  • £3,000 after 2 months of employment (counted from start date with LSCFT)
  • £2,000 after 12 months
  • £2,000 after 24 months
