One LSC is a new collaborative partnership shared service formed by the five NHS Trusts serving the Lancashire and South Cumbria population of 1.8 million people. We are a shared service run by the NHS, for the NHS and are hosted by East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust on behalf of the partner Trusts of the Lancashire and South Cumbria system.
One LSC stands for ‘One Lancashire and South Cumbria’ and reflects the Lancashire and South Cumbria System ambition to have one team serving Lancashire and South Cumbria in a joined-up way. It is jointly run by the five Trusts as a collaborative partnership.

One LSC brings together the Digital, Data and Technology, Estates and Facilities, Finance, People Services and Procurement and Logistics services from each of the provider Trusts to create one central community of professionals. Job overview
Provide a comprehensive 24/7 frontline security service to the organisation at any of the Trust establishments throughout the duration of your employment. This role will include the prevention and detection of crime or anti-social behaviour, ensuring the safety of patients, colleagues and visitors on Trust premises, and ensuring the security of Trust property and assets.
The postholder will be responsible for day to day supervision of a team of security personnel and will allocate work to meet the changing demands placed and/or emergencies requested. They will also be responsible for responding to all Trust security and fire alerts in a timely manner.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will work as part of a cohesive team providing an effective security service to the Trust.
Direct the work of the officers and allocate staff resources to duties and activity on site as appropriate.
Ensure security staff arrive for work promptly and check they are dressed smartly, clean and wearing appropriate clothing & Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Ensure eRoster is completed for shift times and escalate any matters to management.
Responsible for the issue and control of all equipment provided to security staff including radios, body worn cameras, PPE and conduct random officer compliance checks and record outcomes.
Ensure staff are rostered with sufficient breaks and manage staff to maximise patrol duties avoiding unnecessary time spent in the control room.
Carry out formal hand over at the start and end of shift to identify any ongoing issues for attention and brief own team accordingly.
Ensure the control room is always clean and tidy. 10. Ensure all physical intervention (PI) occurrences are reported on Datix/Radar and PI forms are completed as soon as practically possible.
Provide any staff involved in a physical intervention incident the opportunity for a hot debrief after the incident to capture any lessons learnt.
Provide induction training to new members of staff and provide ongoing training to team members on work procedures and safe use of equipment.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Ensure all security staff are aware of the contents of the site assignment instructions.
2. Undertake return to work interviews and escalate matters in line with the Trust’s Attendance Policy in a timely manner.
3. Escalate any staffing issues of non-attendance absence to management as necessary and take appropriate measures to resolve.
4. Performance manage staff to ensure standards are maintained at all times.
5. Ensure ELHT CCTV systems are pro-actively monitored, always ensuring compliance with the ICO Code of Practice, GDPA and Trust policy and procedures.
6. Be responsible for issuing body worn cameras, ensuring all items are working correctly and report any damage, faults, or loss.
7. Check staff are deploying body cameras according to the operating procedures, including recording and preserving information policies.
8. Ensure the control and issue of keys procedure is followed correctly.
9. Ensure all tasks and duties are recorded onto the daily report log.
10. Manage initial response of any Helipad requests
11. Ensure any escort duties are completed in a timely manner as and when required.
12. Deploy security staff on regular security patrols of hospital car parks, grounds and buildings acting as a visual deterrent to criminal activity and anti-social behaviour, ensure all suspicious incidents are reported and any untoward behaviour is challenged as required.
13. Deal with telephone and general enquires, ensuring that all appropriate messages are relayed accurately, and appropriate actions taken.
14. To ensure there is effective communication with other departments, patients and external agencies as required and appropriate using experience and judgement to resolve matters.

17. As and when needed, undertake the role of a Security Response Officer.

Essential criteria
- • GCSE English and Math’s, grade C or above or grade 9-4 or equivalent qualification in English and Math’s
- • Basic computer skills
- • Security experience
- • Ability to deal with volatile and unpredictable people
- • Good verbal and written communication skills
- • A valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) Door Supervisor License
- Have an understanding of mental health conditions, e.g., dementia, alzheimers
Desirable criteria
- • Public service or NHS Security or experience
- • SIA Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) License
- • IT skills qualification
