The Lancashire Diabetic Eye Screening Programme is looking to recruit a Mobile Diabetic Eye Screener/Photographer. To provide clinics in the Lancaster and Morecambe area

As one of our Mobile screeners you will be joining a very busy, professional team of motivated and highly skilled individuals, you`ll run local community-based clinics to see our patients and photograph their eyes to assess for diabetic retinopathy. We`ll need you to be empathetic and able to screen patients on a daily basis. In this role, you`ll be supported whilst undertaking your training, but once that`s completed will be working largely unsupervised in a pressured environment, so a cool head is essential! All in all, we want you to be customer and people focused, caring about our patients and being passionate about delivering an exceptional service at all times.

We have 1 post available and have vacancies in the following geographic locations:

1 x vacancy in the North Lancs, Lancaster and Morecambe area, based out of Whitegate Drive in Blackpool but with daily clinics in the Lancaster area

As a Mobile Screener you will be driving a screening vehicle between community sites as such a full UK driving licence,  is essential.

 

Main duties of the job

MAIN DUTIES

Screening/Digital photography

Deliver digital photographic retinal screening to patients with diabetes aged 12 and over registered with a Lancashire General Practice.

Install mobile equipment at designated screening location in accordance with proper and safe use, identified protocols and the operational policies of both the Lancashire Diabetic Eye Screening Programme and of the designated screening location. 

Set up the allocated room(s) as required and in accordance with proper and safe use, identified protocols and the operational policies of both the Lancashire Diabetic Eye Screening Programme and of the designated screening location.

Conduct Diabetic Eye Screening sessions in accordance with proper and safe practice, national standards, and identified protocols and with the operational policies of both the Lancashire Diabetic Eye Screening Programme and National policies and procedures.

Explain the screening procedure to each patient according to National and local policy and procedures.

Confirm and record electronically patients’ identity and demographic information

Obtain and record electronically appropriate consent to screening and information sharing, according to National and local policy and procedures.
