Job overview
We are excited to announce two Senior Therapy Assistant opportunities in Bolton. One position is with our Community Therapy Team, and the other is with our Orthopaedic Team. Both teams provide essential therapy, care, and support to patients, helping them achieve the best possible outcomes.
- The Community Therapy Team delivers therapy in patients’ homes, offering tailored support in their familiar environment.
- The Orthopaedic Team works with patients both in their homes and on the hospital site, providing comprehensive care before and after surgical interventions.
You will join a dynamic multidisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Specialist Nurses, District Nurses, Nurse Assistant Practitioners, Pharmacists, Social Workers, and Consultants, all working together to deliver outstanding patient care.
Main duties of the job
As a Senior Therapy Assistant, you will:
- Work directly with patients independently and alongside therapy staff, providing practical support and therapy interventions under the supervision of senior staff.
- Assist in delivering both Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy interventions tailored to individual patient needs.
- Contribute to patient assessments, progress monitoring, and care planning to ensure the highest quality of service.
- Make a real difference to people’s lives by supporting patients to regain independence and improve their quality of life.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Community Therapy service operates 08.00-18.00, 5 days a week.
Orthopaedic Therapy service operates 08.-18:00, 7 days a week including bank holidays

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE English & maths or equivalent
- NVQ level 3 city and guilds or equivalent level of knowledge
Desirable criteria
- ECDL
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience with client group
- Previous experience working within therapy
- Previous experience or working within an NHS trust/health care/education setting
Skills
Essential criteria
- Good written & verbal communication skills
- Basic IT skills
- Ability to work independently & as part of a team
- Abililty to cope with a busy worklaod
- Ability to use initiative
- Sensory skills eg manual dexterity
