Consultant Community Paediatrician (Two separate posts)

NHS Medical & Dental: Consultant

Trosolwg o'r swydd

Due to retirement, a fantastic opportunity has arisen within Bolton’s Community Paediatric department with 2 posts becoming available. You would be joining a well-regarded and supportive team of community paediatricians and advanced paediatric clinical practitioners. Bolton NHS Foundation Trust provides an integrated paediatric service across community and hospital services with excellent working relationships both within community services and with our acute hospital colleagues. Bolton NHS Foundation Trust is an equal opportunities employer and committed to family friendly policies. One post includes a leadership role for children’s epilepsy services and the other includes the assessment of children who are looked after or being adopted with the opportunity to take on statutory roles for this. Both posts will include the assessment of children with general Neurodisability including children with medical complexity and life limiting conditions. In the Bolton community paediatrics service, we currently assess primary school aged children with suspected Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We are working with our commissioning colleagues at Greater Manchester Integrated Commissioning Body (ICB) to review the assessment processes for children with neurodiversity including ASD and ADHD to ensure equity of services for our children and families in line with new service specifications.

Development of a special interest to compliment those in the department would also be encouraged. There may be the opportunity to take on further leadership roles on discussion with the department, depending on the applicants’ skills and experience. We anticipate with time there may be the opportunity, with negotiation, to increase the PA waiting of these posts if full time working was preferred.
