Ophthalmology Scrub Practitioner
NHS AfC: Band 5
Job overview
Fixed Term contract or Secondment for 12 months.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated, and forward thinking staff members to join an innovative and pro-active team. We are currently recruiting qualified operating department practitioners and nurses to work in our busy Ophthalmology Theatre Department.
Using evidence based practice, you will provide safe, individual care to patients, to excellent standards. You will be a registered nurse with current NMC registration, a qualified Operating Department Practitioner with HCPC registration, a Student Nurse or Student ODP.
The post-holder will be expected to be flexible to respond to change and organisational needs. There is a requirement to work flexible hours over the course of the week, including weekend on call rota.
The Trust appreciates and values the contribution international nurses bring to the NHS. We also understand the support overseas nurses need to gain full registration once in the UK (via OSCE) and therefore we only recruit internationally to fill nursing vacancies when we can ensure support is in place. At this present time we aren’t in a position to offer that support and therefore will not accept applications from overseas nurses who only have Part 1 NMC registration. If that position changes in future we will clearly advertise our opportunities for international nurses to join our nurse team here in Bolton. Thank you for your understanding.
