Macmillan Associate Uro-Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist

Part-time 27.5 hours per week, permanent post.

Bolton has a well-established Macmillan Uro-Oncology nursing team and we are now looking for a new team member. As a Macmillan Uro-Oncology CNS you will work as part of the multidisciplinary team ensuring that patients with urological malignancies receive the highest standard of care and support from the time of diagnosis and throughout the cancer pathway. Working in partnership with our local specialist cancer providers you will manage these patients across the pathways of care.

We are looking to appoint a self-motivated, dynamic, enthusiastic and reliable individual. The successful candidate will have a key specialist role at a senior level to support the organisation in the delivery of Urology cancer care for patients and their families. Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

You will play a fundamental role in contributing to the development and effective delivery of a Specialist Macmillan Urology Cancer Nursing Service, to reflect the evolving health care agenda, developing and maintaining robust working relationships across primary, secondary and tertiary care to ensure a coordinated patient pathway.

The post holder will hold well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, and should also possess good facilitation and IT skills. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team, having excellent clinical skills to deliver exceptional standards of care for all patients and their families. Experience of working in nurse led clinics is desirable.

You must be keen to face challenges, be well organised and enthusiastic in participating with service development through audit and peer review. Helping to drive and sustain new initiatives to meet local and national standards, as well as ensuring care meets our own Trust values.

  • First level degree in related subject or currently undertaking a Degree Pathway
  • Recognised qualification in Cancer/ Palliative Care
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Recognised teaching qualification.

  • Masters level learning

Experience

  • Post registration experience at Band 5 or above
  • Experience in urology and or Cancer care
  • Experience of multi-professional working
