Job overview
Maintain privacy and dignity for all patients at all times.
• To play a key role in ensuring the Department environment is well maintained and clean.
• To work with estates services and ward team to ensure all fixtures and fitting are in order.
• To communicate well with patients and families.
• To support Department staff in project work and new developments.
• Ensuring that the Department is of a high standard of cleanliness in all areas, and give assistance when appropriate.
• Ensuring ward cleaning checklists are meaningfully completed and report any concerns to Department Sister.
• Cleaning of equipment and organisation of Department kitchen
• Reporting any faults with fixtures and fittings and maintaining accurate logs of jobs reported. Escalate to Department sister or Lead Sister any delays by estates.
• Implement Infection Control principles, ensuring Department environment is compliant with infection control policy.
• Preparation of clinic areas
• Participate in the auditing of the Department environment including Couch audits and report any concerns.
• Ensure Department linen is adequately stored in accordance with Trust policy
• General tidiness of all Department areas and encouragement to team members.
• Ordering of Department provisions via computer ensuring that all stocks delivered to the ward are appropriately stored.
• To support Department manager to ensure storage areas are organised in accordance with productive ward and lean working principles.

Gynae and breastcare ward is a 16 bedded ward . That has both elective and emergency patients. The ward provides holistic care for women's reproductive health, encompassing varied roles like nursing, healthcare assistant and house keeper role. It focuses on patient comfort, dignity, and clinical support, often busy, emotional environment.

Person specification
Housekeeper
Essential criteria
- Basic Maths and English
- Experience with customer service
- IT Skills
- Experience in Teamworking
Desirable criteria
- NHS Experience especially with IT systems
- Experience in working as a housekeeper or similar role
- Food handling experience
- Strong Communication skills
Applicant requirements
