We have an exciting 6-month opportunity to recruit a full time Therapy Assistant to join our Neurological Rehabilitation Online (NROL) team. This contract will last until the end of March 2026

This role will enable patients to access NROL and with support therapeutic delivery of online groups across Lancashire and South Cumbria.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate, preferably with previous experience working in a therapy setting, and with skills around digital delivery of therapy.

The role will be working alongside therapists (including physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists) supporting patients to access and delivering online therapy groups to wide range of patients presenting with a variety of neurological conditions.

Main duties of the job

As a Therapy Assistant you will work as a member of the NROL Team, enabling patients to access NROL. You will provide digital support and education to patients on referral to the service. The post holder will also assist the digital delivery of therapy, supporting qualified therapists in treating patients according to their condition via online therapy groups.

You will use technical and creative skills in the provision of therapeutic activities for patients in a group setting and will be responsible for the collection of outcome measures and feedback.

As a Therapy Assistant you will work closely with the therapy team, operational lead and administrative staff.

The work will predominantly take place online, whilst onsite at Rakehead Rehabilitation unit, but you may be required to work across site to support the delivery of groups.

The position requires you to work between the hours of 0830-1630, Monday to Friday. The post holder will need to be flexible and change base in line with service need and demands.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To work as a member of team assisting in the digital delivery of services supporting registered clinicians in treating patients and supporting their carers/families.

The post holder undertakes specialised support work from referrals screened by a registered clinician. This may include gathering information for sessions,

implementing treatment programmes, as well as enabling patients to access digital services

The post holder will support the provision of clinical activities for patients in a group setting with a registered clinician.

The post holder will take responsibility for their own work within a broad framework laid out by a registered clinician. The post holder will deliver defined interventions as directed by registered clinician having support and advice as required.

Essential criteria
  • Good general education to GCSE level or equivalent including Maths and English.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Have had experience of working alone.

Knowledge

  • IT literacy including Email and Internet. Experience using Excel and MS teams
  • Numerate
  • Health, safety and risk awareness.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organisational skills including the ability to manage own workload.
