Job overview

The Community and Wellbeing network are able to offer an exciting opportunity for a Rheumatology Specialist Nurse to work within the Central Lancashire Moving Well service. The post is primarily based at the Minerva Health Centre and our satellite clinic at Chorley, the main purpose of this post is to work as a specialist nurse to assess, devise, implement and evaluate treatment plans for patients with a range of rheumatological conditions. Ideally applicants will have experience of working within a Rheumatology setting, training will be provided to the successful candidate. 

Candidates should have acute nursing experience of a minimum of 2 years.  You will also need an enthusiasm for working with patients with complex long term conditions.

Main duties of the job

The main purpose of this post is to work as a specialist nurse to assess, devise, implement and evaluate treatment plans for patients with a range of rheumatological conditions. The patient group will predominantly be patients with early and established inflammatory arthritis but not exclusively and aspects of other rheumatological conditions will be managed by the specialist nursing team. The post holder will also assess and supervise patients requiring and receiving biologic and disease modifying therapy and in liaison with the consultant rheumatologist will ensure adherence to local and national protocols and policies for the disease management.
