As an integrated Trust, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT) delivers a comprehensive range of services, including:
- Primary and secondary mental health care for children and adults, including specialist inpatient child and adolescent mental health provision, perinatal mental health, and forensic services with low and medium secure care.

Job overview
Lancashire & South Cumbria Foundation Trust recognise and value the importance volunteer support is to us and our patients. We currently have a volunteer role available supporting the Communications Team at Sceptre Point in Bamber Bridge.
As volunteer expenses are limited to a 20 mile round trip, we are unable to proceed with applications if you live to far from the location you are volunteering for. To apply for this role you must have the Right to Work in the United Kingdom and reside in the local area.
Main duties of the job
The aim of this role is to provide support to colleagues involved with the delivery of fundraising and charitable activity. We ask that volunteers commit to at least one 4 hour shift per week, during the normal working hours of 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
A Standard DBS is required for this role and there is no charge to a volunteer for this.
Working for our organisation
Duties may include the following:
• Support the Fundraising Manager in developing a long term Communications and Engagement Strategy
• Creating content for social media channels including photography and make recommendations for new digital opportunities
• Identify and cultivate new and existing case studies for use in publicity or fundraising materials or as lead stories for the local media. Including potentially contacting patients and interviewing them.
• Copywriting to support charitable activities such as website content, internal news stories, marketing materials and press releases.
• Share new ideas for PR and communication opportunities.
• Respond to enquiries in a polite manner and ensuring an appropriate response is initiated.
• Interact with donors supporting the Charity.
• To assist the fundraising manager in the development of new communication channels to promote the charity and develop integrated plans for fundraising activity which clearly identify communications objectives (e.g target media and key message delivery)
• Support staff in dealing with administration requests
• Assist with deign and marketing requirements utlisling software such as Canva.
