They will be responsible for timely assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients on the neonatal unit, and will support escalation and clinical decision-making in collaboration with the Consultant team.

In addition to their clinical role, the post holder will support the supervision, teaching, and training of junior doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team. They will contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the neonatal unit, including handovers, ward rounds, and communication with families. The role also includes participation in audit, governance, and quality improvement activities to support service development and maintain high standards of care.

The post holder will take part in the full shift rota, including nights, weekends, and on-call duties, ensuring continuous 24/7 cover for the neonatal service.
