We’re looking for an enthusiastic, motivated team player with strong technical and communication skills, and a genuine interest in combining both clinical AND administrative responsibilities.
Based at Royal Preston Hospital, you’ll be part of a busy, welcoming team that delivers Neurophysiology services across Lancashire and South Cumbria. With service expansion underway, this is a fantastic time to join us and grow with the department. While the main base is in Preston, there may be opportunities to support services at other hospital sites.
We’re passionate about training and professional development, and you’ll benefit from a structured training programme with full support and competency-based assessments to help you succeed in your role.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
This role has an approximately 50/50 split between clinical and administrative responsibilities and supports the smooth running of the Neurophysiology service. You will support a team of Clinical Physiologists and Consultant Neurophysiologists to perform a range of Neurophysiological investigations, predominantly assisting medical staff during EMG/NCS investigations.
A significant proportion of the role is non-clinical and essential to service delivery. Non clinical responsibilities include preparation and cleaning of clinical areas, in addition to supporting the administrative team, answering the telephone, working on reception and generally contributing to the smooth running of the department.

The Neurophysiology department in Preston has a busy, friendly team of staff who provide a Neurophysiology service across Lancashire and South Cumbria. Expansion of services is currently under development.
The job is based at Royal Preston Hospital but a need to work on other hospital sites is a possibility.
The department is committed to training and the continued professional development of staff.

Role Summary
- To provide assistance as required and operate medical equipment for Consultant Neurophysiologists and Clinical Physiologists across a range of procedures, predominantly EMG/NCS investigations
- Contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the administrative processes of the Neurophysiology service.
- Work collaboratively with other staff on a daily basis to ensure the service needs are met.
Please note this is a Technical Assistant Officer (Band 3) role with a defined remit. There is currently no formal progression pathway within this post to Clinical Physiologist level. This role is focused on supporting both clinical and administrative functions within the Neurophysiology service.
