COVID-19 Vacancy Clinical Nurse Specialist Children's Respiratory

Band 6

Improving outcomes and avoiding unnecessary admissions to hospitals for children with respiratory conditions is a key aim of the Children's team at Lancashire Teaching Hospital this winter.

We are looking for an enthusiastic children’s respiratory nurse specialist who can work in this new role and be a key player to  improve pathways. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including primary care and tertiary colleagues to ensure children and families are supported to manage their condition e.g. cystic fibrosis, asthma. The role will involve providing support to children in their homes, in clinic, the paediatric assessment unit and the ward. We are looking for someone who is passionate about care planning and helping children to manage their condition successfully. We are also looking for someone with a passion for teaching as educating parents, children and staff is a key part of the role.

Patient experience is very important to us and we are committed to involving children in care planning, seeking their feedback and supporting transition to adult services.

We are able to offer a comprehensive induction package and are committed to supporting learning and development. Professional and safeguarding supervision will be provided for the post holder.

We are pleased to see our team of specialist nurses grow and hope to make this a substantive position in the near future.
