Job overview
Do you have experience of working in an Aseptic unit, then we want to hear from you. We are looking for a friendly individual to fit in our team of Senior technicians who oversee the Aseptic unit production.
The role has varied sub rotations and the management of some staff. We prepare Aseptic products under an MS licence
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the operational day to day management of the Aseptic and Radio Pharmacy (on rotation) production activities including management of workload and throughput, production planning, document production/control, training of staff, line management of staff and the maintenance of equipment and facilities. There is a requirement to ensure Quality Assurance activities are carried out in accordance with departmental policies and procedures

This post is accountable for the co-ordination of Aseptic production activities to ensure products are manufactured in compliance with Preston Pharmaceuticals Policy and Procedures and in accordance with planned production schedules, linked to demand and patient waiting times

Qualifications & Education
Essential criteria
- NVQ3, BTEC in pharmaceutical science/Science Manufacturing Technician or equivalent plus other additional training for checking
- GPhC/Science council registration
Desirable criteria
- Management training/qualification
- Technical Check training
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Aseptic manipulation experience, including the use of Isolators
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical technical procedures acquired through training
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice and the regulations surrounding Pharmaceutical Manufacture.
- Knowledge of clean room design and functioning
- Pharmacy Computer systems and data entry
- COSHH Regulations and Health & Safety at Work Act
- Implementation of HR policies – recruitment, absence management and staff performance
Desirable criteria
- Experience of Pharmaceutical Manufacture in either a hospital or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of Aseptic preparation of medicines
- Radio Pharmaceutical preparation
- Non Sterile Product Manufacture excluding tablet
- Procedure writing
- Document control
