Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time permanent band 7 Specialist Learning Disability Pharmacist to join our team within the Learning Disabilities and Autism care group.

You will be based at our new state-of-the-art, 14-bed facility (Water Meadow View) for people with learning disabilities and mental ill health. The unit is located on the Guild Park estate which is near the city of Preston. The unit is expected to open in Autumn 2025.

Main duties of the job

Working with colleagues, you will be providing care to our Learning Disability Service. In addition to inpatient roles and responsibilities, you will also be working with the Lead Learning Disability Pharmacist to provide care and advice to the wider Community Based Learning Disability Service.

LSCFT aims is to deliver the best possible care to our patients, and this new inpatient unit will provide the opportunity to do just that. Water Meadow View will offer clinical excellence, support, and safety, with patient-centred care at its heart. 

You will joining a wider well-established pharmacy and medicines management team, with access to support from experienced colleagues across the service. 

We welcome pharmacist from all backgrounds – whether you are an experienced mental health pharmacist or transitioning from another clinical area.  Our supportive internal clinical training program is designed to help you build confidence and get up to speed with the speciality.
