Job overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced charity manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to patients and their families.
The Three Wishes Charity Officer is responsible for coordinating and managing fundraising activities, and community engagement efforts to support the charity's strategy. They will develop and implement fundraising initiatives, oversee event planning, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. The role involves supporting relationships with staff, patients, service users, businesses, and volunteers, as well as promoting the charity's initiatives through effective communication and marketing. The Three Wishes Charity Officer will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to maximise support and enhance the charity's impact on patient care and experience.
Please note there may be occasional evening or weekend attendance requirement to manage Three wishes charity events.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will manage the development and implementation of a corporate fundraising strategy. The role is instrumental in securing and developing new relationships within our local town and communities whilst maintaining existing ones from corporate businesses and explore new charity partnerships and fundraising opportunities for the Trust. You will be an ambassador for the Trust, its values and goals, working to raise awareness of the Three Wishes charity and its impact.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Develop and implement diverse fundraising initiatives, including events, campaigns, and support grant applications.
- Maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors and local businesses.
- Ensure timely and appropriate acknowledgement of donations and ongoing communication to build donor loyalty.
- Plan, organise, and deliver fundraising events, ensuring they are well-promoted and effectively managed.
- Work together with volunteers and staff to ensure events run smoothly and achieve their financial and engagement goals.
- Support marketing and communication materials to promote the charity’s mission, events, and achievements.
- Use social media, websites, and other platforms to enhance the charity’s visibility and reach.
- Ensure all fundraising activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Engage with patients and their families to understand their needs and how the charity can assist.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to A-level in finance/business studies and/or social sciences or equivalent
- Diploma level qualification plus experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, mail merge, and standard keyboard skills
Desirable criteria
- Certificate in Fundraising Management (Chartered Institute of Fundraising)
- An Accounting qualification
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
Essential criteria
- Significant experience of working in NHS or similar large organisation
- Experience of creating and working with spreadsheets, databases and/or CRM systems to manage budgets (income and expenditure) and communications
- Experience of providing a high level of customer service
- Excellent demonstrable organisational skills, and able to prioritise a varied workload and work to deadline to ensure timely reporting
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, in particular experience of communicating and working with volunteers, donors or customers as well as staff of different seniority levels
- Working knowledge of charitable fundraising in relation to the healthcare context.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in a busy charity or third sector environment
- Experience of working with and delivering on budgets
- Experience of working in an office environment

- Experience of dealing with sensitive/confidential information

- Excellent planning and time management skills, delivering to deadlines

- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate clearly, professionally and sensitively with people at all levels, verbally and in writing
