Job overview
This is a whole time post as Subspecialty trainee in Gynaecological Oncology with sessions split between University Hospitals of Leicester and Northampton General. The applicant must be enthusiastic and be committed and will undertake a 2 or 3 year, fixed training programme leading to a subspecialist accreditation in Gynaecological Oncology. There is a commitment to high quality tertiary Gynaecology Oncology Services to a 2 million population based within Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and North Buckinghamshire, also supporting Cancer Units at Kettering and Milton Keynes. The trainee programme will provide the opportunity to contribute in the treatment of gynaecological cancer.

The individual requirements set out in the Syllabus for subspecialty training issued by the RCOG will be covered by reading, teaching and clinical experience. 5 Throughout the two year training period the trainees will be expected to:
· Gain experience in undergraduate/postgraduate teaching
· Be able to discuss the ethical and legal aspects of the clinical practice of Gynaecology Oncology
· Undertake some administrative responsibility which will allow the development of skills relevant to the future provision and organisation of clinical services
· Keep a record of their skills development and experience obtained.
