CCG Clinical Commissioning Pharmacist

NHS AfC: Band 8b

We are looking for an experienced pharmacist to manage CCG commissioned High Cost Medicines within University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL) and to manage our expanding biologic medicines team.


This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in the management and use of medicines commissioned by CCGs, ensuring their correct use and  ensure that the use of biosimilar medicines is optimised.


The post will involve working closely with UHL clinicians and pharmacists from a number of therapeutic areas across the Trust, as well as CCG
Commissioners and contracting teams.


Your main duties will be to implement and manage the processes for approval, appropriate use and audit of high cost drugs, in particular biologic medicines, and to advise business planners, Clinical Management Groups and commissioners of clinical and financial implications of NICE technology Appraisal Guidance.


You will be a professionally qualified Pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council with extensive post qualification experience. You will have strong interpersonal skills and be proficient in IT (Excel), enthusiastic and well-motivated.
