To bolster our efforts and continue to provide high quality, patient focussed services, we are seeking a Specialist Doctor to join the county-wide Adult Eating Disorders team based in Lincoln. We are looking for a doctor who is passionate and committed to the development of general adult psychiatry, with a specialist focus on Adult Eating Disorders and who is able to support the services with providing compassionate and high-quality care. 

The role is full-time at 10PAs per week. 

We are interested in hearing from anyone who is interested in a flexible working pattern, which would include job share, compressed hours and part time working. There is an opportunity for 1 day of remote working for the postholder, as agreed with the Clinical Director. As the role will entail travel across the county and potential home visits, it is integral that the postholder is able to travel via car, due to limited public transport.

Main duties of the job

Provide senior clinical leadership in the management of complex cases and perform psychiatric assessments to establish eating disorder diagnoses and other psychopathology.

Take a senior role in the medical assessment of patients with eating disorders, arrange and interpret appropriate investigations, provide advice, and liaise with medical, paediatric, GP and emergency department colleagues in the management of physical complications associated with eating disorders.

Provide psychiatric and medical risk assessment and management for patients with eating disorders.

Liaise with children’s services, social services, education services, GPs, medical and psychiatric colleagues in CMHTs, and families to support comprehensive care for patients with eating disorders.

Contribute to and, where agreed within the service, lead local implementation of relevant national policies and guidance, including NICE eating disorder guidance and MEED, alongside local guidelines and pathways.

Work with team colleagues to support the eating disorders service in meeting relevant NHS England and Department of Health service requirements, including access and waiting-time standards.

Work with team colleagues to support consistent use of Routine Outcome Measures (ROMs) and appropriate eating disorder-specific tools for screening, diagnosis and monitoring of progress with treatment.
