 If so, an opportunity has arisen for a Porter/Handy Person to join our friendly team.

The post is for 20.5 hours to be worked flexibly, including bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

Keep the external area swept and free from litter. Assist in identifying building maintenance needs (internal and external). Report to Unit Administrator/Housekeeper Supervisor

Removal of waste disposal and dirty linen to appropriate store

Distribute/collect mail to and from wards and departments throughout the day.

Oversee delivery of goods received to the unit, including RDC delivery, and distribute appropriately, ensuring to check items against order.

Moving and handling of beds, furniture and other equipment as and when required

Escort ward staff/patients to hospital appointments/ECT and also the administrator to the bank.

Drive the unit vehicle as and when required.

Clean and attend to unit vehicles on a regular basis, including regular safety checks, reporting any faults, and adhering to the local protocol for unit cars.

Take the unit vehicle to the garage for MOT/Service

Transport controlled drug order book to Lincoln County Hospital Pharmacy and collect drugs as and when required in line with Trust policy

During bad weather, grit/sand the car park.

Inform Unit Administrator or Line Manager, as appropriate of any Health and Safety shortfalls or issues regarding the building or any work practice when completing the monthly Health and Safety fire checks

Deal with delivery of chilled food for wards on a Saturday morning in line with food handling regulations.
