Job overview
We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our housekeeping team at Witham Court. This post is for 12 hours per week to be worked on a rolling rota – to include alternate Saturdays and bank holidays. There is flexibility, with hours worked to be agreed with the successful applicant and Housekeeping Supervisors. The post is to cover general housekeeping duties at Witham Court, although flexibility to work across other older adult sites to cover sickness and annual leave may be required.

Main duties of the job
Achieve and maintain high standards of cleanliness at all times, in line with NHS National
Standards of Cleanliness and Infection Control policy:
Use of all cleaning equipment and materials appropriately and effectively to provide a clean
and safe environment
Cleaning of all areas within the site, both on the wards and the off-ward areas as defined in the
cleaning schedules
Daily inspection of electrical cleaning equipment prior to use and the reporting of any faults as
appropriate
Disposal of all waste in accordance with Trust policies
Damp dusting of all fixtures and fitting/internal glass
Ensure all soft furnishings, curtains and soft flooring are cleaned and maintained as required.
Changing curtains when required and re-hang as necessary.
Any other duties as related to housekeeping within the site.
Prepare and regenerate meals for patients. Maintain all food safety records in line with Food
Safety Manual, Catering Policy, and all food safety legislation.
Ensure patient area is readied for meal service, and clear related crockery/cutlery etc after
meal service, ensuring these are washed appropriately.
Maintain stocks of cleaning materials on wards and in admin areas.
Report any issues/damage to the environment/furniture etc to the Housekeeping Supervisor/Ward Manager and/or Building Manager.
Ensure all stocks of linen are maintained and laundered in line with appropriate policies.

- Level 2 Food Safety qualification, or willingness to undertake

Experience

- Previous experience within a cleaning/housekeeping role

- Previous experience within an NHS/care environment
