This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Theatre Practitioner/Nurse/ODP to join the operating theatre team at Lincoln County Hospital as part of United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT).
You will be working as an Anaesthetic Practitioner within a friendly, welcoming and expert multidisciplinary theatre team. The department is able to offer a supportive working environment whilst offering you experience of caring for elective and emergency surgical procedures. We support operating in a number of specialities including: General Surgery, Colorectal, Urology, Gynaecology, ENT, Maxillo Facial, Ophthalmology, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Breast, Obstetric and Robotic Surgery.
Post qualification theatre experience is desirable but not essential as a seconded period will be given to the successful candidates.
Hours will nominally be from 08:00 hours to 18:00/20:00 hours Monday to Friday over a 3 or 4 day week with weekend cover and night cover required, but this can be negotiated.
Main duties of the job
The Operating Department has 10 Theatres, which currently provide day case and major surgery services for a number of specialities.
As an anaesthetic practitioner, you will work as part of the Multi-professional theatre team to provide care during the delivery of clinical services. The role requires the planning and delivery of own work load, organising equipment and resources as service demands and in accordance with policies and protocols.
Continuation of professional development is expected through post registration study. The role requires an ability to work on own initiative within the appropriate legal requirements, acts, policies, procedures and guidelines. The role requires a level of autonomy to practice governed by the code of professional conduct.
The role of the Theatre Practitioner requires a knowledge of health and safety, infection control and moving and handling. The successful applicants must be able to communicate effectively with all members of the multi professional team.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.
This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.
The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).
