We are looking for a keen and enthusiastic person to become part of our friendly and supportive teams in Witham Court for Functional and Dementia Units within the Older Adults and Frailty Division. We are seeking healthcare support workers, those who really want to ‘make a difference’, with the Trust values at the core of patient care.

Main duties of the job
- Implementation of care plans and care packages to service users experiencing severe mental illness and/or mental health problems.
- Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of high-quality care through involvement in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
- Supporting the service user, their carers and the wider professional team.
- Actively promoting a caring attitude at all times, treating patients/service users with dignity and respect

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Cavendish Care Certificate or willingness to work towards resourced by LPFT.
- NVQ Level 2 in Care or equivalent.
- NVQ level 3 in Promoting Independence or equivalent or working towards achievement.
Desirable criteria
- Certificate in Community Mental Health ECDL
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous relevant experience working with people with mental health problems at a HCSW grade or equivalent within a health and social care setting.
Desirable criteria
- Voluntary or working capacity with mental health service or equivalent
Skills
Essential criteria
- A patient and empathic approach.
- Effective communication with service user, other memebers of the team and outside agenies.
- Clear accurate clinical note keeping.
- Skills related to Physical healthcare intervations such as urine analysis, phlebotomy,TPR and BP etc, recording findings and informing supervising nurse of results.
- IT skills.
- De-escalation Skills.
- Planning and organisation skills.
Desirable criteria
- Immediate life support Venepuncture
