We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join us on a full-time basis, working clinically whilst completing their apprenticeship.

This apprenticeship role provides the springboard for the successful candidate to be part of our Trust, and to share our values as they build a career in nursing. Candidates will develop the core health and caring skills required in the NHS today, including completion of the Care Certificate.

There is an opportunity to join either a level 2 or level 3 Apprenticeship dependent on current/predicted results and essential requirements outlined in the person specification.

You must be aged 18+ in September 2026 to be able to work the required shifts which include full rotation/ 24 hour period.

Main duties of the job

Here at NLaG, we are passionate about our values of compassion, honesty, respect and teamwork. This apprenticeship role provides the springboard for the successful candidate to be part of our Trust, and to share our values as they build a career in nursing. Candidates will develop the core health and caring skills required in the NHS today, including completion of the Care Certificate. There is an opportunity to join either level 2 or level 3 Apprenticeship depending on your GCSE current/predicted results and essential requirements outlined in the person specification. This is a career development role where the Trust aims to aspire and develop our future workforce.

Working alongside other healthcare professionals, successful candidates will be working in busy patient areas gaining an insight into care and how a modern hospital works. Candidates will be fully supported in learning new skills so they can work safely and calmly in our wards and clinics. This will include learning a variety of tasks such as supporting patients with fluid and dietary requirements, helping with menu choices, supporting personal care activities (i.e. washing, dressing, going to the toilet), making beds, keeping our areas clean and tidy, as well as appropriate record keeping and helping other clinical staff with their duties.

Working for our organisation

The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community Partnership arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.

Made up of two Trusts - Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) - our Partnership has significant ambitions and is committed to delivering world-class hospital and community services for the 1.65 million people we serve.

Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLAG and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH.

As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas - biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.

We believe that by developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled and caring workforce, we can deliver excellent care to our patients and a great future for our employees, our Partnership and our community.
