Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly funded post at Scunthorpe and Grimsby for a highly motivated and proactive Paediatric Nurse to become our Paediatric Educator. The successful post holder will work in collaboration with paediatric educators at Hull to develop a robust education programme and deliver education to the MDT. The post is part time working 36 hrs per week. Flexible working will be considered as long as it meets the service needs.
Main duties of the job
To deliver education and study days
To develop plans to improve development of staff
To promote consistency of guidance and nursing competencies
To provide mentorship and leadership
Work collaboratively with neonatal and paediatric educators within the ODN to ensure staff are provided with opportunities to access additional learning resources.
Welcome students and new starters and ensure they have a robust induction to the paediatric area.
Plan and facilitate training days for the nursing teams
Present and teach demonstrating a sound teaching approach utilising mixed media simulation and creating positive learning environment
Work alongside staff and students to provide direct clinical based teaching
Further develop own competence and ability to teach wider range of skills as required to disseminate best practice
Review and update clinical competence in line with best practice
Respond to educational requirements that emerge from service need

- • Proven experience of team / department management and staff clinical supervision
