Job overview

The post holder is required to work as a part of the Theatre team and to undertake a range of duties to assist in the smooth running of the Theatres. He/she will contribute to the efficient running of the departments, and the provision of a consistently high standard of patient care.

Multi-skilling will be encouraged and those wishing to broaden their range of clinical skills will be supported.

Preference will be given to staff with ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

The Health Care Support Worker is a member of a multidisciplinary theatre team who undertakes a range of duties to assist in the smooth running of the operating theatre department and the provision of a consistently high standard of patient care.

Delegated work and duties will be assigned and carried out under the direct supervision of a Theatre Practitioner as appropriate, in accordance with the relevant competencies laid down For NVQ Level 2 in Support Services in Healthcare pertaining to the checking in of the patients into the theatre suite.
