Job overview
To transport pharmaceutical and related products within the Pharmacy department and around the site. To order items as necessary. To support pharmacy staff as appropriate
Main duties of the job
· To collect, convey and deliver pharmaceutical and related products to wards and departments, including controlled drugs, following agreed procedures and using necessary equipment.
· To hold a bleep and be available at short notice to deliver urgent items
To ensure relevant paperwork is completed
· To place orders for IV fluids and medical gases as necessary
· To pick and deliver IV Fluids, Irrigations and Dietetic products to Wards and Departments using the produced paperwork
· To communicate relevant information to nurses and other healthcare professionals
- To attend departmental meetings as appropriate.
To participate in Late Night, Saturday and Bank Holiday rotas.
To have due regard for your own personal safety and that of other staff, Patients/carers and parents.
- To have due regard for relevant regulations and procedures, including but not restricted to Health & Safety, Moving & Handling.
- To maintain concentration in relevant aspects of pharmacy services for prolonged periods
- To be flexible to the demands of the environment including deadlines..
- To work within infection control and health and safety guidelines.
