Job overview
The Virtual ward service is an initiative which provides our patients with timely and appropriate support to be able to safely receive treatment at home and supports early discharges and admission avoidance for patients who do not need to be in hospital.
The Senior Pharmacist- Virtual ward pharmacist will be working with the multidisciplinary team to provide a high-quality pharmacy service to the virtual ward patients.
The post holder will be involved in the developing the service by reviewing, developing and implementing policies and procedures as well as providing relevant training to pharmacy and non-pharmacy staf
Main duties of the job
Duties include:
To lead, develop, deliver and evaluate clinical pharmacy services for the virtual ward at RFL
Collaborating with other senior staff to support service development
Represent the Trust at NCL level for Virtual ward services
Participating in medicine related clinical audits, research and development and development of trust-wide guidelines
Supporting training of the pharmacy team.

- Considerable experience working in hospital pharmacy and proven experience as a specialist clinical pharmacist

- Experience of writing / implementing clinical guidelines and government directives
