Job overview

A great opportunity has arisen for a Building Operative within our Capital Estates and & Facilities Broadmoor Hospital, Crowthorne.

To work a 37.5hour week, Monday to Friday shift pattern working early and late shifts, either early 0800-1630 or late 0930-1800.

We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and experienced Building Operative to become part of a large team providing an excellent service to our patients and staff.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible to ensure that they provide a comprehensive multidisciplinary domestic, portering and maintenance support service. Responsible for ensuring clean, safe and a comfortable environment is provided for patients, staff and visitors at all times.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good general education: reading, writing, and basic numeracy skills
  • Demonstrable knowledge of cleaning and COSHH procedures.
  • Understanding of basic maintenance tasks (e.g., changing bulbs, batteries, etc.).
Desirable criteria
  • First Aid certification
  • NVQ 2 or equivalent experience in General Cleaning
  • NVQ 2 or equivalent experience in Customer Service

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Good knowledge of cleaning procedures
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
  • Understanding of the correct application of manual handling techniques and working at heights.
  • Understanding of confidentiality requirements
  • Understanding of the quality aspects of service procedure and audits.
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of PLACE audit process.
