Job overview
Clinical and Care Professional Leads support south east London-wide and borough programmes of work, therefore, there is an expectation that you currently work within south east London, and for borough based roles, within that borough.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, motivated and connected Health or Care professional to support Healthy Behaviours across Bexley. You will champion opportunities taking a population health approach to develop and maintain healthy behaviours, maximising uptake of screening and vaccination programmes and will support various work programmes, for example Healthy Weight, Substance Misuse, Smoking Cessation and NHS Health Checks. This role will be key in driving forward, working with public health, the delivery of the 3-year integrated plan for the obesity/ healthy weight priority. The role will be instrumental advocating for a proactive and preventative model of care that is more joined up and holistic where community activation is key for encouraging and supporting Bexley residents to adopt healthier lifestyles.
You may be a clinically or care qualified professional (for example, a GP, an Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Nurse, Pharmacist) or you may have knowledge and experience of supporting people directly to develop healthy behaviours in a senior or mid-level role (for example, as part of the Voluntary and Community sector).
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be passionate about supporting people, will be connected to the local population and a motivated and confident communicator. You will have an understanding of the wider determinants of health and how they impact healthy behaviour and will seek evidence-based approaches to support system-wide improvements in the health of the local population.
You will develop and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders and will seek opportunities to connect organisations to improve outcomes for the local population. You will be part of a well-connected and supportive team, and will be self-driven to influence policies, service development and delivery.
We are seeking a professional who is currently working in a front-line, population-facing role who is dedicated to taking on this role 2 sessions per week on a fixed term contract of employment or secondment.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Qualified care and/or clinical professional i.e. NMC, HCPC, social work register, GMC etc. Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area
Desirable criteria
- Certificate / qualification in programme management, service improvement or transformation
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of transformational/innovative service delivery, productivity and/or transformation policy implementation.
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of being part of peer networks and collaborative working
- Cross organisational and/or professional boundary collaboration experience
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- An in-depth understanding of health and care provision and awareness of current ICS/system policies and priorities
- Champions the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion both within and outside of the organisation. Provide effective, inclusive and compassionate leadership ensuring all voices are heard and creating and nurturing a culture where staff feel safe to speak up.
Desirable criteria
- Good knowledge or cross professional transformation, digital solutions and innovative redesign.
