B5 Physiotherapist (Part-Time) 15hrs Per Week

We are looking for an applicant with recent NHS experience particularly within rehabilitation. 

We have an exciting opening for a Band 5 physiotherapist to come and work with our friendly team on Thorndon Ward, Brentwood Community Hospital  who provides a multi-disciplinary inpatient therapy service for adults over 18.

Working for our organisation

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement – Fringe

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,303 and a maximum payment of £2,198 per annum pro rata).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

If you are a forward thinking physiotherapist, who has sound decision making skills and effective clinical reasoning, and wish to work as part of an supportive inpatient multidisciplinary team this is the position for you.

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of physiotherapy assessment, intervention and discharge planning of patients with variety of conditions. You will also need to work along side other members of the multi-disciplinary team in order to provide a patient-centred service, working to identify holistic patient goals and rehabilitation plans. You will be supported by senior physiotherapists in the hospital.

Essential criteria
  • Recent experience of working in the NHS.
  • Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Desirable criteria
  • Student experience of core rotation in elderly care and any one of surgical, orthopaedic or neurology

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Diploma or Degree in physiotherapy
  • Registration with Health and Care Professions Council

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to carry out appraisal and supervision
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including writing patient notes and provision of accurate and legible reports.
Desirable criteria
  • Able to carry out moderate physical exercise throughout the day and carry out concurrent activities.
