Are you an experienced B5 Occupational Therapist, looking towards progressing into a substantive B6 Senior OT role with a diverse and dynamic team? Or are you a B6 Occupational Therapist looking to work with an established therapy team with aspirations to progress? Main duties of the job

Thorndon Ward at Brentwood Community Hospital is  a 25 bedded inpatient ward  overlooking  well established gardens.  There is a good canteen with nice eating areas both inside and outside.  There are ample free parking facilities and it is situated in a pleasant local community close to local transport links.  

We provide rehabilitation to older adults improving service users’ functional skills with their activities of daily living whilst
promoting independence.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust.  All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.  As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.  The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. 

High Cost Area Supplement - Fringe

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,303 and a maximum payment of £2,198 per annum, pro rata for part time).

  • BSc Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registered

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of CPD in Portfolio with recent learning relevant to clinical field.
  • Recent experience of working in the NHS as part of a multi-disciplinary team (2 years minimum)
