We are recruiting to this role on a 9 month fixed term contract/ secondment basis. 

The post holder will provide high-quality administrative support to the People & OD team, specifically focusing on job evaluation processes and projects. This includes coordinating evaluation panels, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance with national NHS job evaluation procedures and recently launched guidelines from NHS England. The role supports the delivery of fair and consistent job banding across the organisation.

Main duties of the job

Provide comprehensive administrative support for job evaluation activities.

Coordinate the scheduling and documentation of job evaluation panels.

Maintain accurate records of evaluation outcomes and ensure secure storage.

 Support the preparation and submission of job descriptions and person specifications, preparing and distributing panel packs and ensuring panel members have access to relevant materials in advance.

 Liaise with managers to ensure job documentation is compliant.

 Assist with the matching of roles to national profiles.

 Monitor and track re-evaluation requests and outcomes.

Ensure consistency and fairness in the application of job evaluation policies.

Provide guidance on job evaluation procedures to managers and staff.

Support the development and maintenance of job description templates.

Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations.

Provide dedicated support to job evaluation projects in line with NHSE requirements maintaining a project log to monitor milestones and deadlines.

Support the development of standardised templates and guidance.

Maintain version control of job descriptions and evaluations.

Key contact for all operational job evaluation activities and queries

Prepare updates and summaries of job evaluation activity.

Support internal audits and quality assurance checks.

Provide administrative support for appeals or re-evaluation requests.

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrating commitment to professional development.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable experience in administrative roles involving sensitive data and document management
  • Previous experience supporting NHS job evaluation processes or working within a People/HR function
  • Experience in supporting HR related projects
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively; prioritising workload effectively; meeting deadlines under pressure.

Knowledge/Skills

Essential criteria
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); accurate minute-taking and record-keeping.
  • Familiarity with ESR systems; ability to produce reports and summaries for senior stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of Agenda for Change job evaluation principles and NHS HR policies
  • Flexible and proactive approach; commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence.
