NHS Medical & Dental: Specialty Trainee (ST6-8)
Job overview
This is a 12 month post and is full-time, across the London and Sutton sites. It has been designed for either clinical genetics or medical/clinical oncology trainees to develop their knowledge of cancer genetics, and to support research within the Cancer Genetics Unit.
Main duties of the job
- Regular clinics
- Attend weekly MDT
- Attend Molecular Tumour Board and Genomic Laboratory Hub variant meetings
- Close liaison with genetic counsellors, laboratory teams and other clinical teams across the hospital

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Eligible for full GMC registration
- MRCP or equivalent
- National Training Number in • Clinical Genetics • Oncology (medical or clinical) • Haematology
Desirable criteria
- Higher degree in related area
Experience
Essential criteria
- Training at Specialist Registrar level
- Understanding of testing for inherited cancer syndromes
Desirable criteria
- Undergraduate and post graduate teaching
Skills, ability and knowledge
Essential criteria
- Ability and willingness to work within a multidisciplinary team
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of caring for patients with inherited cancer syndromes
