Job overview

This is a 12 month post and is full-time, across the London and Sutton sites.  It has been designed for either clinical genetics or medical/clinical oncology trainees to develop their knowledge of cancer genetics, and to support research within the Cancer Genetics Unit.

Main duties of the job

  • Regular clinics
  • Attend weekly MDT
  • Attend Molecular Tumour Board and Genomic Laboratory Hub variant meetings
  • Close liaison with genetic counsellors, laboratory teams and other clinical teams across the hospital

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Eligible for full GMC registration
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • National Training Number in • Clinical Genetics • Oncology (medical or clinical) • Haematology
Desirable criteria
  • Higher degree in related area

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Training at Specialist Registrar level
  • Understanding of testing for inherited cancer syndromes
Desirable criteria
  • Undergraduate and post graduate teaching

Skills, ability and knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Ability and willingness to work within a multidisciplinary team
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of caring for patients with inherited cancer syndromes
