We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team, specialising in procurement and homecare services. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless supply of medications and homecare products to our patients, supporting both clinical and operational excellence.

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement processes, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of medicines and homecare products.
- Collaborate with suppliers, healthcare professionals, and internal teams to maintain stock levels and quality standards.
- Support the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to medicines management and homecare services.
- Provide technical support for homecare services, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.

Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Pharmacy Technician registered with GPHC
- GCSE English and Maths grade C or above (or equivalent)
- NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy Services with BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science as underpinning knowledge or equivelent
Desirable criteria
- Nationally accredited checking qualification
- Educational Supervisor qualification
- Leadership course
Knowledge and Understanding
Essential criteria
- Understanding of how a hospital pharmacy provides its services
- Awareness of current NHS issues including national and local priorities
- A knowledge of risk management
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of Homecare services and processes
- Understanding of the procurement role within hospital Pharmacy
- Knowledge of hospital computer systems
Experience
Essential criteria
- Post qualification Pharmacy experience
- Customer/ patient service experience
Desirable criteria
- Experience of hospital Pharmacy
- Have had experience creating meeting agendas and taking minutes
- Pharmacy Procurement or Homecare experience
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
- Good interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Excellent IT skills and familiarity with common software packages
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload.
- Keen eye for detail
Desirable criteria
- Supervisory/management skills
- Team leader skills

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
