Job overview

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Service Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the operational management of one or more community health centres, ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of services while maintaining a strong focus on customer service, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Working autonomously, the post holder will provide comprehensive operational and administrative support to multidisciplinary teams, coordinating a wide range of site, staff, and service-related activities. The role includes responsibility for overseeing frontline reception and administrative services, supporting budget management, coordinating facilities functions, and ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and governance requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator or facilities professional with strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills who is passionate about delivering high-quality support services within the NHS.

Main duties of the job

This will involve providing a quality frontline service and a high level of complex administrative support to the multi disciplinary teams. The post holder will also be responsible for the direct line management of three or more administration teams and provide management cover in the absence of other building managers.

The post holder will directly line manage several administrative staff teams, providing leadership, supervision, training, and performance management support. They will also contribute to service resilience by coordinating staff cover arrangements and providing management support across other community sites when required.

Working for our organisation

Croydon Health Services NHS Trust provides hospital and community services across Croydon through a range of clinics and specialist centres. Formed in August 2010 from the integration of Croydon Community Health Services and Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust, we employ around 4,100 staff serving a diverse population of over 360,000 people.

Our main site, Croydon University Hospital, is one of the busiest in London. We are also leading the way in delivering more healthcare in community settings and people’s homes. Our district nursing teams, Allied Health Professionals and community matrons care for people of all ages across the borough.

Like the wider NHS, we are working hard to meet increasing demand. With the right people on board, we continue to innovate and transform our services to provide the highest quality care for local residents. We place strong emphasis on education, training and career development for all staff.

If you want to make a real difference, challenge yourself and be part of a Trust that’s shaping local healthcare, Croydon Health Services could be the place for you.

At Croydon Health Services NHS Trust, we are committed to supporting flexible working arrangements. Applicants are encouraged to discuss any flexibility they may need during the recruitment process.
