This post was created following a revision of the ENT / Audiology pathway that was introduced in autumn 2018. Audiology are leading on the service for adults, 18 years and older, with hearing, balance and/or tinnitus disorders who have traditionally been seen in the ENT service. We will also be directly ordering requests for imaging. This is an exciting development for the Audiology Team.
The Audiology Department is a busy and energetic one, with an Adult Audiolgy Lead, 8 Audiologists and 2 Assistant Audiologists as well as a Hearing and Balance Therapist. We are extremely fortunate to have an experienced administration team to support our services. The team works well together across the disciplines provided and all are always willing to help each other out. Everybody comments on the warm and friendly atmosphere in the Department.
We provide an adult audiology service to the people of Croydon, including diagnostic support to some of the ENT clinics, including audiovestibular investigations, hearing aid provision and rehabilitation service. In addition we provide an electrophysiology service.
Croydon is located in South London is under-going extensive re-development. There are excellent transport links with London and the South-East via train, tram or bus. Staff car parking is also available.
The post will be based at the Croydon University Hospital and at our outreach clinic in Purley Memorial Hospital.
