Exciting Opportunity: Service Manager Public Health Band 7 – Integrated Women, Children & Sexual Health

Are you an experienced and driven manager ready to make a real impact? We're looking for a Service Manager to play a key role in the operational leadership of services within our Integrated Women, Children & Sexual Health Directorate.

Working closely with senior leaders, you'll help ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality care, support key performance targets, and manage budgets and contracts. You’ll also lead and support a team of administrative staff, driving improvements in training, development, and performance.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties and Responsibilities – Service Planning & Delivery

 

  • Act on behalf of the Head of Nursing to manage and resolve day-to-day non-clinical issues within the service.

  • Support the Head of Public Health Nursing and operational leads in developing business and service plans. Where appropriate, take the lead on specific projects or service improvements.

  • Manage delegated budgets and work alongside the Head of Nursing and Matron to coordinate financial planning for the services.

  • Monitor and analyse patient activity and service performance, ensuring compliance with national, regional, and local targets and standards.

  • Oversee the development and regular updating of performance dashboards to track service delivery effectively.

  • Ensure implementation of agreed action plans that address capacity and access issues, supporting achievement of key performance targets.

  • Lead on data analysis for areas delegated by the General Manager to provide timely, accurate insights to the leadership team.

  • Prepare reports on financial performance, contracts, and service delivery metrics as needed.

  • Attend and actively participate in weekly performance meetings, supporting follow-up actions and service improvements.

Education/ Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educate to a minimum of degree level or above in relevant subject.
  • Qualification in social work, nursing, occupational therapy, clinical psychology, physiotherapy or relevant subject and registration with a professional regulatory body
  • Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Management Qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Proven experience of leadership in health or social care services including operational management
  • Experience of managing/supervising staff
  • Experience of using a full range of IT systems and patient/client data systems (including excellent understanding of MS Office packages)
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of managing health and social care integrated services

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Good working knowledge of wider health an d social care system and structures, policies, procedures and legislation relevant to services areas. Particularly the benefits and challenges of integrated multi -agency working.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the range of local health and care services including the voluntary and community sector
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding the barriers to integrating between health, social care and the voluntary sector.
