24/7 Maternity Ward Clerk/Admin

Want a challenging and fulfilling job?

The post is 34.5 hours per week. Shifts are on a rota basis.  Day shifts are 8am – 8:30pm, night shifts are 8pm – 8:30am throughout the week including weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.

You will provide effective and efficient clerical and reception support to the Maternity Unit, ensuring the administration processes meet the needs of all service users. You will be working as part of a team alongside our busy midwives, consultants and doctors. This may require the post-holder to work at a different area in the event of absence.

You will liaise with staff and the general public both face to face and on the telephone. Organisational, administrative and computer skills are essential. Your role will include working in the maternity reception area, excellent communication skills and previous clerical experience is required.

You must be well organised and used to dealing with the public politely and able to prioritise your workload.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
