Physiotherapist/ Occupational Therapist  Band 6

The post holder provides physiotherapy to adults in their relevant community setting, with assistants to deliver care. They work in liaison with carers, health visitors and therapy and nursing staff within the Croydon Health Services, Croydon University Hospital, and other external health providers, including GPs, Social Services and voluntary sector staff

Croydon Health Services NHS Trust provide hospital and community services from a number of community and specialist clinics throughout Croydon. The Trust was formed on 1st August 2010 through the integration of Croydon Community Health Services and Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust. Around 4,100 staff provide services for a population of over 360,000 people who are relatively young with a high level of ethnic diversity. 

Our main hospital site, Croydon University Hospital is one of the busiest in London. We’re also leading the way in providing more healthcare outside hospitals at clinics, specialist centres and in people’s homes. Our experienced district nursing teams, Allied Health Professionals and community matrons look after people of all ages across Croydon and our Children’s Hospital at Home cares for children with long-term conditions without them having to come to hospital.

Qualification

  • BSc, MSc or diploma leading to Membership of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Registered with the Health Professional Council (HCPC)
  • Registered with the Health Professional Council (HCPC)

  • Evidence of relevant Clinical post graduate courses and managerial development.

Knowledge and Understanding

  • Concepts of treatment in adult rehabilitation.
  • Knowledge of Clinical Governance and the impact on clinical practice.

  • Aware of audit process

EXPERIENCE

  • Broad post graduate experience Elder rehabilitation & Neurology, Respiratory care and Musculoskeletal Outpatients, Orthopaedics.
  • Worked within a Multidisciplinary team.

  • Experience in working with patients
  • Previous Band 6 post

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to manage own caseload. Good time management & organisational skills.
  • Good clinical reasoning skills in a wide range of core areas
