Job overview- BANK POST
The post holder will work as an integral part of the T3 obesity service, supporting the Tier 3 MDT in assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of evidence based weight management service to Croydon residents.
The post holder will work under direct supervision of a senior members of the MDT, and also work independently to deliver various elements of Tier 3 programme in accordance with agreed guidance/care pathways.
Under supervision and with training the post holder will be trained to participate triaging process.
The post holder will also be involved in delivering group sessions, motivational and assessments at various stages of the programme
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the job - BANK post
1. To deliver dietetic support to patients and cares as required within the remit of the T3 pathway for Croydon Health Services NHS Trust.
2. To work alongside the T3 MDT and liaise with partner agencies to help utilise initiatives set up to support residents of Croydon.
3. Assist with specific projects or work areas as required by the Head of Dietetics and the MDT
4. Undertake teaching and education sessions to healthcare professionals and carers as directed by the pathway.
5. To regularly audit work to be able to promote the impact of the teaching on health outcomes.
6. To be responsible for the organisation and ordering of dietary resources and ancilliaries as required. Assist in the development of any new resources for the service.
7. To participate in Continuous Professional Development, clinical audit, in-service training, clinical supervision and attended any relevant internal and external training courses. To complete an annual Personal Development Plan and aim to achieve all objectives.
8. Communicate effectively with all members of the T3 MDT and the extended dietetic team at Croydon. When communicating with patients ensure consent is obtained, language is appropriate and respect patients religious, cultural and social needs
9. Manage and prioritise workload and time appropriately

Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Foundation degree/NVQ level 4 or equivalent in health/social care or science.
- Experience of healthcare/public sector/educational settings
Desirable criteria
- Teaching and training experience
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of nutrition and dietetics for the prevention and treatment of disease.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of applied nutrition, food skills and food system management
- Excellent record keeping and clear concise notes
- Evidence of self-directed learning and willingness to participate in CPD
- Demonstrate flexible approach
- Demonstrate compassion, kindness and respect for others

Desirable criteria
- Experience of delivering guidance to patient groups
