Job overview

The post holder will be required to work as part of the Registration Team as Central Booking Officer for Gynaecology. The post holder will be required to work with roles and responsibilities of Registrations Team and workload. Ensure all Trust targets are met through effective bookings of referrals in a timely manner and adhere to the access policy.

The post holder will have skills in all areas of administrative functions to enable them to support the patient pathway. The post holder should be able to cross cover within Women’s Services Department and to work shift patterns.

Main duties of the job

 Process and log all referrals from all sources in line with Trust Access & Administration Process Policy and specialty Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Schedule appointments, ensuring that capacity is proactively and efficiently used. This includes booking patients into the right treatment/diagnostic clinic to ensure that they are seen by the most appropriate clinician first time and for subsequent follow ups in gynaecology outpatients.  Be pro-active in adding all referrals to the Colp/Vulval/Hysteroscopy system (MediScan). Clinic management – cancel and block clinics for annual and study leave, ensuring that Trust targets are not breached.  Ensure that any diagnostics and investigations that are required as part of the patient path

Essential criteria
  • Customer Care or acquired equivalent experience
  • GCSE or equivalent standard of education
