  • Digital integration with ePMA & automation
  • Mental Health Inpatient Programme- Medicines Optimisation Workstream
  • Rollout of Discharge Medicines Service across the trust
  • We are also in the process of merging with Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust to form a single new mental health partnership - North London Mental Health Partnership.

Main duties of the job

The pharmacy service is seeking a lead pharmacist to:

  • Co-lead the clinical pharmacy service provision to wards, community teams, units & departments in Enfield;
  • Play a full and active role in the provision of a high-quality pharmaceutical/clinical service;
  • Facilitate the efficient, optimal, rational and cost-effective use of medicinal products by clinicians and service users;
  • Provide and participate in the following: ward–based clinical pharmacy, patient counselling, training of other healthcare professionals in medicines optimisation and management, supervise junior staff and carry out monthly supervision with staff;
  • Support the monitoring of clinical governance processes through undertaking ward & team-based audits.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Essential criteria
  • Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Master’s degree in pharmacy or equivalent
  • Completion of pre-registration experience
Desirable criteria
  • Certificate or Diploma in psychiatric Pharmacy practice
  • Credentialed Member of College of Mental Health Pharmacy or in the process of applying for Royal Pharmaceutical Society Faculty Membership
  • Independent Prescribing qualification
  • Management qualification

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

Essential criteria
  • Experience of dealing with patients where language/understanding or learning difficulties may be a barrier to effective communication
  • Knowledge of medicines used in mental health
  • A minimum of 18 months post-qualification experience as a pharmacist.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of training or supervising staff
  • Experience of management or a leadership role
  • Experience or involvement in Clinical Trials

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Essential criteria
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and good interpersonal skills – with pharmacy team members, public and other health professionals.
  • Can demonstrate an understanding of the key stakeholders the post is likely to be supporting and how they are expected to relate to them.
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy, numeracy/calculation skills.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in using ePMA
