Job overview
We are looking to recruit two Band 6 Unit Co-Ordinator's to support the Enfield Acute Mental Health Services experiences a high turnover of complex patients across both working age and older adult services.
These positions are for 12 months to help us deliver crucial support to maintain an overview of all wards at the Chase Farm site, understanding each ward's staffing needs, patient access, flow, current acuity levels, and bed availability for upcoming shifts
You will be working in a team that is diverse in background, highly motivated, friendly, agile, flexible and responsive.
The post-holder will provide effective and timely care within a multidisciplinary team setting for working age adults who present with functional mental health problems who are residing in the London Borough of Enfield.
The post holder will carry a defined caseload and will work closely with other members of the team, including Psychologists, Medical professionals, Social Workers, Nurses other Health & Allied professionals to ensure that the best quality of care is provided.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have managerial responsibility for overall site co-ordination to ensure the provision of high standards of care in all inpatient areas.
- They will deal with complex incidents on acute and inpatient wards which will necessitating a well-prepared and knowledgeable unit co-ordinator.
- Responsible for managing and coordinating day-to-day operations in a specific unit or department.
- Acting as the point of contact for the management of all activity in hours and out of hours and assuming indirect accountability for ensuring these are managed in a timely and effective manner providing advice and support as and when necessary.
- Co-ordination and facilitation of admissions and discharges to the Inpatient Wards.
- Providing support and guidance to staff with the support of ward managers and ensuring correct escalation procedures are adhered to for any incidents which occur.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of a patient centred approach to care: assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating the care needs of patients and their carers
- Ensure that statutory and legal requirements of care are incorporated safely within each patient’s programme of care.
- Maintain own registration with the NMC/ appropriate professional body.
