Job overview

With the formation of The North London Mental Health Partnership, Quality Improvement is at the heart of the strategic aims within our five-year strategy and we have ambitions to become a centre of excellence with the development of a QI academy. 

The purpose of NLMHP’s QI team is to support the successful delivery of the QI strategy which includes the Brilliant Basics programme as well as localised improvement initiatives, which drives sustainable improvements in quality, patient care, efficiencies, and reduced variation. The QI team provides leadership, advice, support, and training and coaching for QI throughout the Partnership. 

The post holder will be a member of the central QI team and the wider Academy to embed a QI culture within the Partnership and will specifically provide  QI support to the Specialist Division

Main duties of the job

  • Be a member of the central QI team and the wider Academy.
  • Work with the team to embed a QI culture.
  • Link with the Division of Specialist Services to provide QI support and guidance
  • Facilitate a number of QI projects which contribute to the achievement of the Partnership’s objectives, advising staff on which tools and techniques could be utilised.
  • Will participate in the delivery of training programmes and provide advice and coaching to QI practitioners and other staff based in the services.
  • Will also provide critical support and challenge to the clinical services to deliver, scale up and spread small changes tested in teams.
  • May represent the QI team at internal and external learning events.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • QI training
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Training in Quality Service Improvement and Redesign (QSIR)
  • Accredited coaching programme

Skills/Abilities

Essential criteria
  • High level of and professional verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with others
  • Ability to use different IT packages
  • Ability to motivate and inspire others
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to manage difficult and challenging relationships effectively
  • Ability to establish credibility and instil confidence at senior level

Knowledge and Experience

  • Worked in complex and multi-professional organisation
  • Worked with appropriate data and measures to inform work and demonstrate progress

  • Worked across a range of projects using QI methodology
  • Delivered formal teaching / training sessions
