We encourage all our staff to have a healthy work/life balance. In doing so, you can apply for flexible working from the beginning of your employment. We offer a range of options which are designed to suit different circumstances and priorities in line with service requirements.
Job overview
Princess Royal University Hospital has six operating rooms, including two obstetric rooms that can accommodate both elective and emergency caesarean sections, as well as specialities including gynaecology, general, laparoscopic surgery, urology, bariatrics, ENT, and some elective orthopaedics and trauma orthopaedics.
We have exciting opportunities for highly motivated individuals to join our experienced scrub team. We are seeking qualified professionals with efficient scrub skills, preferably multi-skilled. Candidates must be able to work effectively as part of a team, in close liaison with senior scrub staff and Band 7 managers.
Applicants must possess attributes such as a strong work ethic, motivation, flexibility, and vision to be part of a productive, safe, and efficient team. Your role will also involve providing safe clinical care to patients. You will participate in, and serve as a role model for, the cleaning, restocking, and preparation of operating theatres, as well as the care of equipment.
Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be expected to communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), matrons, and floor coordinators. You should be a team player, empathetic, and able to remain calm and composed under pressure.
This role also requires a reassuring manner and a strong understanding of patients' rights, privacy, dignity, and safeguarding.
