We are seeking a visionary Chief Pharmacy Information Officer to drive the strategic integration of digital, data, and technology across medicines management and services within the trust.
This highly specialised role demands expert leadership in adopting cutting-edge digital solutions including EPMA, DMS, EPS, Closed Loop administration, and Robotics ward dispensing thus enhancing patient safety, efficiency, and clinical outcomes.
As a key influencer in healthcare innovation, the post holder will shape the long-term vision for digital pharmacy services, ensuring alignment with national and regional digital strategies while representing the Chief Pharmacist at Trust board and external strategic meetings. With advanced expertise in configuring and integrating Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems, they will optimise functionality, troubleshoot complex issues, and strengthen clinical leadership in digital transformation. The postholder will be based at Parsons Green and will be accountable to the Chief Pharmacist.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will work alongside the EPMA project manager, medicines management team, clinical and digital teams within the trust as well as external stakeholders to deliver innovative projects.
The postholder will lead the development and implementation of digital pharmacy systems, including but not limited to: EPMA, DMS, EPS, Closed Loop administration, and Robotics ward dispensing. They will encourage clinical leadership of the digital and transformation agenda across the organisation, acting as an ambassador and influencing colleagues from all front-line professions to provide leadership to the digital pharmacy portfolio.
They will be a digital enthusiast with the vision to see how healthcare will be delivered in new and different ways in coming years, with a passion for transforming clinical services to realize available opportunities.

Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy/Pharmacy Practice or equivalent experience.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Clinical Safety Officer NHS England accreditation.
- Clinical Safety Officer NHS England accreditation.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable criteria
- IT or project management qualification.
- Non-Medical Prescribing qualification.
- Leadership or management qualification.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Strategic digital leadership and experience in produce digital strategy.
- Experience managing large-scale healthcare projects, particularly in relation to digital systems or EPMA implementations.
- Extensive post-qualification experience in hospital clinical pharmacy or prescribing advice.
- Experience delivering training/coaching using computer systems.
- Experience in project management and quality improvement projects.
- Completion of clinical safety reports as per DCB0120 & DCB0169 standards.
- Familiarity with EPMA systems and the integration of pharmacy information systems into clinical workflows.
- Chairing high level committee board
- Recent leadership role
- Experience in managing a team or service
- Human Resource management and performance matters

- Previous experience in community services.

Skills adn Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of digital systems in NHS healthcare delivery.

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Be able to provide highly complex information and impart knowledge to all levels of healthcare professionals (up to and including senior consultants/professor/executive director level)
- Advanced clinical reasoning and attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team and share skills.
- Project management experience.
- Ability to plan, set objectives, priorities and review performance against objectives
- Good inter-personal skills and ability to build relationships at all levels
- Able to formulate short and long term strategic plans for the effective development of a service despite uncertainties
