Job overview
NELFT is delighted to invite applicants who are suitably qualified nurses to undertake the above course. Candidates must hold:
- Current NMC Registration for nursing or midwifery
- Evidence of applying for NMC registration and confirmed NMC registration within 2 months of the start date.
- Students will have the course paid for will receive a salary up to mid-point Band 5 (dependant on NHS experience)

Interviews for ARU University Chelmsford and will take place during September and a 10 minute presentation will be part of the interview process. The title will be given to successful applicants

Working for our organisation
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area Supplement
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,303 to a maximum of £2,198).

Essential criteria
- Supporting statement must demonstrate some knowledge and understanding of the Health visitor/School nursing role – depending upon their level of first registration experience how they articulate this may vary but we are looking to see that they have engaged with some research of the role over and above having a ‘passion for working with children’. Some of understanding the broader context of public health and transferrable skills should be evident
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- evidence at least 120 Credits at Level 6 (applicants who have completed nursing and midwifery in the UK from 2000 onwards would meet this criteria). If in doubt contact the university for advice
- Applicant must have entered NMC PIN number
