As part of this exciting development, we are recruiting a Multiagency Child Protection Team (MACPT) Health Lead to join our newly designed Multi-Agency Child Protection Teams.
This is a key leadership role for an experienced safeguarding professional who can bring a strong health perspective to complex child protection work. Working within a dynamic multi-agency environment, the post holder will provide expert health leadership, safeguarding advice and professional oversight to ensure that health information, clinical insight and the voice of health partners are fully integrated into child protection decision-making and safeguarding practice.
Main duties of the job
The MACPT Health Lead will provide expert clinical leadership and specialist safeguarding advice within a multi-agency child protection team. The post holder will ensure that health information, clinical insight and wider health intelligence are effectively used to inform risk assessment, decision-making and planning for vulnerable children and families.
Working alongside colleagues from health, children’s social care, police and education, the role will provide consultation, constructive challenge and professional oversight to support high-quality safeguarding practice and improved outcomes for children and young people.

Education / Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to master’s level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area
- Evidence of continued professional development.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Safeguarding Children competency Level 4
- Significant safeguarding experience and leading multi-agency processes
- Providing supervision, training, completing audit and QA experience
- Experience of managing risks and High-level report writing.
- Ability to analyse complex issues where material is conflicting and drawn from multiple sources
Skills and Abilities

Experience

- Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team and leading operational change
- Experience of working a complex environment and interpreting complex information
- Experience of working in an environment relating to children and young people with a learning disability, autism or both and their families including experience in undertaking comprehensive, evidence based assessments and developing personalised care and support plans
- Detailed understanding of relevant legislation e.g. The Children and Families Act 2014, Health and Social Care Act 2012, Mental Capacity Act.
